Brass Quintet

(What Did I Do to be so) Black and Blue
by Fats Waller
arr. Zack Smith
Price: $15

Transposed parts can be ordered.

Black and Blue was a huge hit for Fats Waller and debuted in the musical "Hot Chocolate" in 1929.  Louis Armstrong recorded it several times, and this arrangement is based on one of his interpretations of the song.  Trumpet 2 carries the melody, then tuba takes over.  Not overly difficult -- but a nice feature if you have a trumpet player who can play with some Satchmo-like flair.
