Yes, this is the classic Corelli trumpet solo most of us played in
high school or college -- but Zack has updated the accompaniment to give it
a fresh, twentieth century flair. The slow movements have thicker (and
sometimes surprising) chord movements, and lively Allemande and Gigue have
an extra kick. The trumpet solo remains pretty much unchanged from the
original except for four bars of much needed rest in the last movement.
If you haven't played this solo in a while, it is time to shake off the
rust and revisit this classic piece of brass literature.
