This lovely melody from Holst's orchestral work "The Planets" appears halfway through the Jupiter movement which he
later made into a song. It has been used in the hymns "O God Beyond All Praising", "Oh God, Show Mercy to Us",
"O the Goodness of the Lord" and others. After the initial gentle statement and interlude, verse 2 employs a
flowing 8th note accompaniment followed by a second interlude then a more dramatic 3rd verse. The melody is
frequently passed to the different instruments.
