This lovely off-stage solo is the main feature of the 3rd movement of Symphony 3. The light nature of the
accompaniment is achieved by having pairs of instruments alternate between playing & resting in the different phrases.
To prevent difficulties in holding the piece together, a small solo cue staff is written above the other 4 parts.
(Trumpet 1 is provided in Bb & C. Trumpet 2 is for Bb switching to flugelhorn.)
