Brass Quintet

West End Blues
by Joe "King" Oliver & Clarence Williams
arr. Zack Smith
Price $10

Transposed parts can be ordered.

This is a loose transcription of the famous Louis Armstrong recording.  It includes the opening cadenza and the solo he plays at the end.  Trombone gets a chorus of blues and the French horn gets to carry the melody for a chorus as well (don't worry, the horn doesn't have to swing!).  This is more of a "chamber jazz" type piece than the other New Orleans-style arrangements posted.  Your trumpet 1 should really check out the original Armstrong recording to make this sound authentic.  Search "Louis Armstrong  West End Blues" to find some YouTube audio & video postings.

Drum part available here. www.trumpetunes.com/drum-parts.html

A Trumpet Solo with piano accompaniment version is also available.
