This is a very faithful transcription of the Bruno Mars hit arranged for big band. The guitar part is
a pretty close transcription to what is on the recording as is the bass, percussion and trumpets. I've
given the guitar solo to the second tenor (because they NEVER get a chance to shine). Difficulty is rated
intermediate advanced due to the range of the lead trumpet (a number of written As and Bs). Lead trombone
goes up to an E above middle C. I also included an optional clarinet part that pretty much doubles the
fourth trumpet except a couple times where it plays above the lead trumpet. If you have someone who can
sing this tune well, it will be a hit with your audience!
Instrumentation is 5 saxes, 6 brass, 4 rhythm.
Playable by 3 saxes, 2 trumpets, 1 trombone and 3 rhythm.
