This arrangement was originally commissioned by the Imperial Brass from Dallas, TX.
Instrumentation is 4 trumpets, 3 trombones, euphonium, French horn, tuba and also includes a horn
sub part for euphonium. Joe Avery's Piece is one of the most recognizable New Orleans second
line marches, and this version should have the audience up and ready to join a parade.
Trumpet 4 and tuba have jazz solos (written solos are provided). Though no drum part is
provided, any drummer that can play a second line groove should have no trouble sitting in with
your brass choir on this one.
This arrangement is based on the New Line Brass Band version from their
CD "Bad Spuds".
